Restored 20 room Romanesque Revival mansion. Each morning guests are pampered with a bountiful breakfast served to them in the formal dining room.The oak paneled walls and ceiling, with its fireplace and built-in buffet, looks much the same as it did 123 years ago. Daily, guests can savor varied breakfast of fresh fruit, freshly baked pastry, and an egg entree. All of this is accompanied by piping hot coffee and tea, fruit juice and ice cold milk. For those who like simplicity, cereal, toast and jam can be found on the table among the other goodies of the morning. With advance notice, those with special dietary needs can be accommodated.
Fine restaurants, unique shops and many St. Louis attractions are close by. The Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium, Edward-Jones Dome, the Peabody Opera House, Union Station, Missouri Botanical Gardens, Laclede's Landing, the City Museum, the St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Art Museum, History Museum, Muny Opera and the St.Louis Science Center are all within ten minutes drive. How long have you been in business?
I have been in business since August 1989.
What is your primary product or service?
My primary service is a bed & breakfast inn. we also host weddings and other special events.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I first became inspired to run my own bed & breakfast after reading an article about one in Victorian Homes Magazine. After the birth of my first child, in order to be a stay at home mom, I took the leap to transfer my skills as a chemist (BS Chemisty--UMSL) to innkeeper.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I make my guests stay more of a staying with friends/family experience vs making it all about rules and business. My guests rarely see or hear the business side of what i do, they experience warm hospitality, comfort and good food.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one location with five rooms. Future expansion would include adding up to four more rooms over the next few years at this location.
